Razan Elbaba is a photographer currently living in Washington D.C. In 2016, she became one of the eight National Gold Key Recipients from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for her mixed media portfolio on women who to choose to wear hijab in the United States. Her work has since then been published in The Washington Post, Rookie Magazine, VICE among others. Her work has also been featured nationally in several museums and galleries such as the Mississippi Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Huntsville Museum of Art, and SVA Chelsea Gallery.

Razan holds a BFA from School of Visual Arts. In March of 2020, she was matched with Kathy Ryan, director of Photography at The New York Times Magazine, to produce a series of portraits of community members at her local mosque as part of the SVA Mentors program. This series was shown at the SVA Chelsea Gallery.

Two of her passions include politics and culture and she owes it all to the fact that she grew up in Washington D.C. and stays connected to her Lebanese heritage. She is interested in finding relationships between the two and creating work based on the idea of identity.
